How do I choose?First up, there’s no one right way to make up your mind and there’s no such thing as the wrong choice – because it’s your choice! Pick the best party or person to look after your interests or the issues that matter most to you as you see them. Policies, personalities, philosophy, past record, future promises, gut instinct or looking at the facts - you decide what's important to your decision, you don't have to consider them all. Maybe consider what people around you are saying, check out the news, ads, leaflets, party or candidate websites or meetings. Elections NZ has all the parties (including website links) able to chase the party vote, and party lists and electorate candidate names will be available on this website shortly after nominations for an election close. News media websites are well worth a look. There's usually also heaps happening on social networking sites and in the blogosphere. You can let the world know what you think in many of these places. When it comes to local and district health board elections you’ll be sent candidate profiles with your voting papers to help you pick, and your local media will also be covering them.
