First thing is to enrol and to make sure you keep it up to date - and commit yourself to voting when the time comes.

You can also get your mates and whanau enrolled and along to vote on election day. It’s really important that we all speak for ourselves, or it'll be other people - not like you - who'll make the decision for you.

You could also get political by helping out the candidate or party you support in the election.  Elections NZ has some advice on how you can let the world know what you think, and what you can expect from people trying to swing your vote.
